STAREYES
we weep we weep for a life lived to its fullest every joy and tear to be taken She leap and grabbed for
people say that the brightest shooting starts are the ones that fly by the fastest
She was a blazing star in all our lives She trailed laughter in her wake
Laughter
She loved to laugh eyes that sparkled with that love for life eyes that are now sightless we will remember and weep
not for Her no. but for our own pitiful selves for not telling her
so many unspoken words we will remember Her supernova

This awful poem is dedicated to the memory of my friend Rosalyn Limardo,(12.10.79-6.11.99) who died in a car crash in Perth, Australia. She would have laughed at the tacky words and imagery.
I regret not getting to know her better, but I also understood that we were from different circles of friends, which is why I'm not beating myself up about it. But our class (Secondary 3/4 Virtue, 1995/6, St. Nicholas Girls' School) was unique in a way - we had an extraordinary sense of class spirit, a spirit which Rosalyn had no small share in contributing too. We were separate individuals, thrown together in a melting-pot of a class, and circumstances bade that we sit pretty close to each other.
I'll never forget the 2 different days where we discovered TV together - "Superman! So irritating…how come Lois is so stoopid?" "You watch Superman too?" "You too?!"
"ROSS KISSED RACHEL!!!"
I think I can hear her laughter now.
