It's like apples and orange monster trucks
To illustrate the depths of mindlessness that some people of my office have sunk to, an anecdote:
Today, during our weekly staff meeting, there was a short discussion on the merits and demerits of using a flyer to publicise events. Zo-card postcards were deemed too small, and A5 postcards (which we have been using) are just slightly too bulky. Flyers roughly 1/3 the size of an A4 paper were proposed. As we debated the pros and cons of this, someone decided to open their mouth:
"Yes, it would be good because there was this man who was on holiday, and he was at V-- Concert Hall asking about concerts during the weekend, and there just happened to be our postcard there just as he was shopping for something to go to. So I think it's very good."
And I'm sitting there, bored out of my skull, mentally burying my head into my hands, thinking, oh dear goodness gracious me. We're not discussing whether or not cards are good or useful - that fact has already been established, SIR. We're now discussing if size does matter, a fact which somehow, you can't grasp, even after 40 over years of interacting with life. How is that even possible that you're still so stupid?
