jeudi, juillet 05, 2007 Casting (off for) another spell...  ... this time to Bangkok!I'm surprisingly excited about going there; I just went in Dec 2004 (ETA: which I realise is no longer "just", it's TWO years ago!), so it's not like I've been deprived of Bangkok, but SX's right, there's something about heading on a holiday with your friends that cannot compare with a family/church outing there. There are many reasons why I'm happy to be going - it's actually been more than two years since my last proper enjoy-yourself vacation, which was with Adeline to Egypt (May 2005), and I'm actually really, really looking forward to just hanging by the pool to swim, get a massage, and accompany people who want to shop. Some stuff has also been getting me down, so since I'm recently unemployed and I'll be glad to just go away for a while to physically remove myself from everything. I also have a sneaky suspicion that I will spend more than I intend (and enjoy myself far too much), since I actually have a mental list of stuff I need to get, like lipgloss and certain types of shoes and skits and blouses and dresses and a revolving earring hanger if I can manage to find a good and cheap one. This sort of mental picture always rings alarm bells in my head because I know that I will probably get them since I actually want to go out to get them. And... DRUMROLL PLEASE... it will be my first time to Chatuchak Market. Yes, pick your jaws up from the floor, because I have NEVER been to Chatuchak. I know, my Singaporean passport should just be revoked right? I don't eat chilli, don't eat durian, now never been to Chatuchak? REVOKED CITIZENSHIP!
