Assignment: FAIL (the teacher, not the student)
Two days ago, a church teen asked me for help with an assignment. She was to pick a photograph, and use a non-literal/implied metaphor or phrase to describe the visual language of the poster.
The example given by the professor was the coloured picture of a sheep in a grass field, with the subtitle: the grass is greener on the other side. Now, pardon me if I'm wrong (which I rarely am in general - how arrogant, I know), but isn't the use of the word "GRASS" literal? Lousy teacher.
Anyhow, this was one of the photos that she sent to me, and generated my best contribution to her assignment:
Hansel's Remorse And the assignment? This is her following email to me:
My teacher said my whole class all wrong lah. Must have the colour of the picture inside the phrase. Like black... Black as the charcoal, my mother's face is. or something like that. so gay. Teacher fail right? Fail.Libellés : church, school
